RED media files can be processed a number of ways at the time of the import. Use the Debayering, Colour, Image, Gain and Curve settings to modify the look or the size of the imported media.

RED clips are 16-bit, but Smoke down converts them to 12-bit to optimize graphics processing.

NoteRED files require a lot of computing resources to process. You can use the Preview panel to set In and Out points on imported clips to minimize the transcoding of extraneous material.
