You
can apply a consistent color hue to areas in a texture image using
the Hue tool.
Hue is
based off a Hue, Saturation, and Value color model (HSV), where
the color hue for pixels in a texture layer is replaced with a user-specified
color hue in the areas you stroke.
NoteThe Hue tool
only work on the active paint layer. That is, it does not have any
effect on the underlying shading material color.
- Click the Layers tab
to display the Layers window, and set the
layer display to Paint.
- In the Layers window,
select the paint layer you want to apply some color hue edits.
- In the Paint Tools tray,
select the Hue tool.
- In the Hue properties
window, set the Color property to the desired
color hue by clicking the color chip and adjusting the color in
the Color Chooser. For more information,
see
Using the Color Chooser.
The Numeric
Input Value section and the Eyedropper in
the Color Chooser can be useful
for sampling and setting a color hue value.
- Stroke across the painted texture in
the areas you want to change the color hue.
The color hue for the
pixels is modified in the areas that you stroke. Color value and
color saturation are not affected. Unlike other paint tools, no buildup
of the hue effect occurs.
NoteFully saturated color
hues yield better results than color hues with lower saturation
values. Black and white textures are not affected by the Hue tool.
