Creating a Resize Soft Effect
 
 
 

A soft Resize is automatically applied to clips added to the timeline that do not have the same resolution or scan mode as the current clip on the timeline. You can easily perform pan and scans and animate the image position to achieve optimal resizing.

A soft Resize can also be applied to a same-resolution segment of the timeline and be used to correct blanking problems or to add a soft letterbox. You can use a soft Resize to apply a soft Axis and have a surface with a border.

If you apply a soft Axis on a segment that is already soft resized, you can work on the resized version of the segment or on the original resolution by muting the soft Resize. The muting is done automatically when you apply a soft Axis to a soft resized segment to allow you to work on the native resolution clip in the Axis Editor.

A segment with a soft Resize can be played back in real time if the quality option is set to Coarse. Other options may require rendering.
