Autodesk provides complete documentation in an accessible HTML help system that is displayed in a Web browser. The Help includes information on all the application's tools, commands, and features.
The Help window is divided into two frames: the Navigation frame on the left and the Topic frame on the right. The Topic frame shows the Help topics. At the top of the Navigation frame there are links to the four navigation panels:
Each topic page shows context links for the Previous and Next topics, as well as Show in Contents, Add to Favorites, Parent Topic and Home :
When the chapter’s first topic appears, there is no Previous link.
The Contents page contains links to all sections, chapters and appendix titles in the Help
To find a topic using the Contents:
Section title links appear.
If you click the Collapse icon the chapter closes in the Contents.
The Index contains keyword entries followed by links to the topics where the entry is discussed.
To find a topic using the Index:
The first instance of your keyword displays in the Topic frame. To see additional instances of your keyword click the Next button .
Searching is the best way to find information in the Help. Click Search in the Navigation frame to access the Search tool.
To enter a query, just type in a few words and press Enter (or click the Search button) for a list of relevant topics. Click the “or” radio button to broaden your search or the “and” radio button to narrow your search.
The Highlight on/off box is on by default. This highlights your query in the Topic frame pages.
The Match case box is off by default. Enable Match case when you are specifically looking for a capitalized or non-capitalized word. In the off state it will return results regardless of the case.
The Find whole words only box is off by default. Use Find whole words only to narrow search results. For example, searching on Soft returns topic pages that contain any word that has Soft in it, such as Software. Enable the Find whole word only to narrow the search results to pages that contain the word Soft.
Use the Favorites page to store favorite topics for quick retrieval. While navigating through the Help pages you can save a page to Favorites by clicking the Favorites icon at the top of the Topic frame.
The selected favorite is the Favorites page you are currently on. To remove the selected entry from the Favorites list, ensure you are on the page you want to remove. Click the Remove selected from Favorites icon to remove the saved favorite.
