Relinking to Files on Different Computers Using Wiretap

When loading AAF files that you want to relink to file-based media, you can use Wiretap to access these files if they are stored on different computers.

The Wiretap Server must be configured properly to recognize the different hosts that you want to retrieve media from.

To relink to files using Wiretap:

  1. In the Clip Library menu, from the Interchange Format box, select AAF, and click Import.
  2. Enter the host or group name, as configured in the sw_wiretap_path_translation_db.xml file.

When loading AAF files, the file-based media can be retrieved from the host or group you indicate. The host or group name is resolved from the configuration in the sw_wiretap_path_translation_db.xml file. See the Autodesk Stone and Wire Filesystem and Networking Guide or contact your Wiretap administrator.

  3. Load the AAF file, then relink to media files. See Relinking to File-based Video or Audio Media.

If you do not enter a value in the Source Host Name / Group field, any paths contained in the AAF file will be interpretted as pointing to your Flame workstation rather than the correct location on another computer.
