Clamping occurs when colours go beyond the RGB range and colour information is lost. In the Colour Warper, however, lost colour information can be retrieved. For example, if you clip colours using the white level, it is still possible to retrieve highlights that are clamped using various controls (including the trackballs) in the Basics menu.
