Troubleshoot sculpt layers
Mirror a sculpt layer on
an asymmetrical model
An example of an asymmetrical model is a figure
that is posed with one arm raised above its head, while the other
is lowered. In these sculpting situations you need to explicitly
define an axis of symmetry.
TipCreate a new layer
for your sculpting work when planning to use layer symmetry. You
can merge the two layers when you are finished.
- Set the topological axis you want the
symmetry to occur across before you perform any sculpting. For more
information, see
Set a topological axis.
- Sculpt on one half of the model.
- In the Layers menu,
select Layer > Mirror and select Tangent to
specify that you want the mirror copy to occur across the topological
axis you previously set.
