Consider the following to create a basic
hair shape and style the hair:
- lengthen or shorten hair (
Hair > Scale Hair Tool)
- add more follicles or delete follicles,
trim or extend hairs using the Paint Hair Tool (see
Hair > Paint Hair Follicles and
Paint hair follicles)
- edit hair curves by bending, smoothing,
curling, and straightening (
Edit hair curves)
- use fields to style hair (see the Dynamics guide
for information about field,
Newton field,
vortex field, and more)
- use constraints to hold hair in position,
such as to the head, or in clasps, ponytails and updos (
Set up hair constraints)
- for special effects, assign a Paint
Effects brush to hair (
Assign a Paint Effects brush to Hair)
To control how the hair
style reacts to forces, like gravity, use the following:
- field
- hair system Dynamics attributes,
such as Stiffness, Iterations,
or even Turbulence for simulating blow
drying hair
- follicle Dynamics Overrides attributes,
such as Stiffness, Length
Flex and Damp
- collisions (
Make hair collide)
- collision constraints (
