If
you want to edit attributes for a selection of follicles, do one
of the following:
- Edit the value in the Channel
Box. All selected nodes of the same type will be affected
by the edit. For example, turn on Braid for selected follicles.
- Edit the nodes in the Attribute
Spreadsheet. (
Window
> General Editors > Attribute Spread Sheet)
Editing in the Attribute
Editor only affects a single follicle, the lead selection.
Before editing, be sure
to be either in the Start or Rest
Position.
To edit the attributes of selected follicles
- Select the desired follicle(s). See
Select hair, follicles, curves, and CVs.
- Modify the settings in the Attribute
Editor, Channel Box or Attribute Spreadsheet.
For descriptions of the follicle attributes, see
follicleShape.
- To see the changes you may have to play
the simulation. See
Play a hair simulation.
NoteWhile you can paint Hair
Scale, Inclination, Roll, Polar,
and Surface Inset, you cannot edit
them in the follicle’s Attribute Editor.
These attributes affect the transform on the Start curve. If you
select the Start curve then you can easily edit the transform values. Inclination, Roll,
and Polar are rotate XYZ. Surface
Inset is the Z translate. Scale is
the scale XYZ on the follicle node.
