To create a spring IK handle
- Activate the spring IK solver. See the
above procedure.
- In the Animation menu
set (press F2), select
Skeleton
> IK Handle Tool.
Your mouse pointer changes
to the tool's crosshair cursor.
- Open the Tool Settings panel.
The IK
Handle Settings appear. See
Skeleton
> IK Handle Tool.
- Select ikSpringSolver from
the Current Solver drop-down list
and set the other IK Handle Settings as desired.
- Click the joint in your joint chain that
you want as your spring IK handle's start joint.
- Click the joint in your joint chain that
you want as your spring IK handle's end joint.
A spring IK handle that
starts and ends at the joints you selected appears on the joint
chain.
To reset the joint rest pose for your
spring IK handle
- Reposition your spring IK joint chain
so it is at the pose you want as its handle’s new rest pose.
If the spring IK handle
is keyframed, then you need to first disable the handle before you
can reposition the joints of its spring IK joint chain. See
Disable or enable IK handles.
- Select the spring IK handle for which
you want to set a new rest pose.
- In the Attribute Editor,
select the ikHandle tab.
- In the IK Solver Attributes section,
expand the IK Spring Solver Attributes subsection
by clicking the arrow next to its name.
- Click the Set to Current Pose button
located next to the Rest Pose attribute.
The current pose of the
spring IK handle’s joint chain is now its new rest pose.
