cache_fluidShape

cache_fluidShape nodes can only be used to set the initial state of a fluid and to play back fluid caches created using Maya 2008 (or earlier versions). Fluid caches are now created and played back using nCache cachFile nodes. See cacheFile.

Fluid Cache Attributes

Cache File Name

Specifies the name of a fluid cache file (non nCache).

This field is read-only when the current fluid has a One File per Frame (OFpF) or Segmented cache.

Start Time

Displays the start time for the current (non nCache) fluids cache. This field is read-only.

End Time

Displays the end time for the current (non nCache) fluids cache. If your fluids cache is One File per Frame, the Start Time and End Times for your fluids cache are the same. This field is read-only.

Sampling Type

Oversampling and undersampling specify how often Maya calculated the fluid simulation per frame. These Fields are read-only.

Over
Under
Sampling Rate

An integer value for the Over Sampling or Under Sampling. This field is read-only.

Cache Contents at Current Time

Displays which of the fluids’ attributes have been included in the current (non nCache) disk cache file. These check boxes are read-only.

Caching Node

Disk Cache

Displays the name of the current (non nCache) fluid disk cache file. This field is read-only.

Copy Cache File Locally

Lets you turn on or off the creation of the local copies for any (non nCache) fluids playback cache file. This is useful if you are low on disk space or are using a network for distributed rendering.

WarningWhen the Copy Cache File Locally attribute is off, you cannot append or truncate your fluids cache.
