Creating hair
Create your own hair on surfaces
Use hair presets
Select
Hair > Get Hair Example to
choose from hair presets (wigs), styled hair systems that you can
import and attach to surfaces. Each example file includes:
- A full hair system (see
hairSystemShape for
details on the hair system)
- A base surface that temporarily hosts
the hair system
- A hair constraint collision sphere, if
it is necessary for the preset
You can quickly import Hair
Presets into your scene, play, and render them without
alteration.
Modify these files to
customize hair styles and behavior, use them as learning tools to
understand how to create your own hair styles, or use them simply for
ideas.
To import a Hair Preset into
a scene
- In the Dynamics menu
set, select
Hair > Get Hair Example.
The Visor window opens to the Hair
Examples tab.
- Right-click the desired Hair
Preset and select Import. Maya
imports the hair system and its surface into your scene. See
To transplant a Hair Preset to another surface.
The Notes section
at the bottom of the Attribute Editor provides
information about the Hair Preset,
pointing out the key aspects of its construction.
