Split multiple polygon faces
Split polygon components
Insert an edge loop
Split a face so that a
vertex is added at its center
The Poke Face feature subdivides
a polygon face in such a fashion that a new vertex is added to the
center of the selected face. When the vertex is added a manipulator
appears to move the newly created vertex or vertices.
Poke
Face is useful when you need to add details such as bumps
or indentations to a polygon face.
To
split a face so that a vertex is added at its center
- Select one or more faces and choose
Edit Mesh > Poke Face.
- Use the manipulator to move the new vertex
or vertices. Remember that you can also change the pivot by pressing
Insert or Home. Click the circle handle attached to the manipulator
to switch between local and world axes.
NoteThe Show
Manipulator Tool only appears when Construction
History is on.
