To expand or collapse an item

  1. Click the arrow to the left of the item in the device outliner.

To expand or collapse all of the item’s children

  1. -click the arrow to the left of the item in the device outliner.

Example: Listing the mayaClock device

If you ran the mayaClockDemo MEL script, the clock name (clock) should be listed in the left column in the Device Outliner. If it is not, follow the directions in “To expand or collapse an item”.

To show all of the device’s children

  1. -click the arrow to the left of the clock name.

The first level of children in the clock are the three axes: hours, minutes, and seconds.

For complex devices, an indented list of axes is displayed, each with its own children. Eventually a device listing ends with attribute attachments. The attachments describe how the device is connected to Maya attributes.
