In this lesson, you learned how to copy history
from the Script Editor history section
to create Shelf buttons so that you can
quickly execute a series of commands. You can:
Save
multiple MEL script commands as a Shelf button.
Type
basic MEL creation commands to bypass the Maya user interface.
Use
additional MEL script commands and MEL script command flags.
Here are some other things you can do with Shelf buttons.
You
can save the custom settings for a menu option box command as a shelf
button by setting the parameters in the option box, and then selecting
the item from the menu while holding down + (Windows)
or ++ (Mac
OS X).
You
can add custom images to a shelf button, change the name of a shelf button,
or change the commands associated with a shelf button by selecting
Window > Settings/Preferences > Shelf Editor.
For more information, see
You
can also create custom icons for your Shelf buttons
in your favorite image editing program. Icons must be 32X32 pixels
and in bitmap format.
