Expand the FBX Version menu to select an FBX version.

The following table lists the different versions available for you to select from the FBX Exporter option.

NoteYou do not need to change this option if you are using the latest FBX 2009 plug-ins in the source and destination applications. This option is only for exporting older versions of the FBX plug-ins, not the application, unless the latest plug-in is not available for that specific version. For example, if you want to export from Maya 2008 and import this in Maya 8.5, using the latest FBX 2009 versions of the plug-ins in both applications, you do not need to change the export FBX version. The file will be compatible using the FBX200900 FBX version.
Version Description
FBX200900 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the latest FBX200900 versions of the FBX plug-ins. This is the default FBX version.
FBX200611 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200611 versions of the FBX plug-ins.
FBX200608 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200608 versions of the FBX plug-ins.
200602_MB75 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200602 versions of the FBX plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder. NOTE This is no longer necessary with the most recent versions of MotionBuilder, since “Fbx plug-in Import” has been implemented.
200512_MB70 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200512 versions of the FBX plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder.
FBX200508_MB70 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200508 versions of the FBX plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder.
FBX60_MB60 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX60 versions of the FBX plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder.
FBX53_MB55 Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX55 versions of the FBX plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder.
