Expand the FBX Version menu to select an FBX version to export to.
The following table lists the different versions available for you to select from the FBX Exporter option.
| Version | Description |
|---|---|
| FBX2010 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the latest FBX 2010 versions of the Maya FBX Plug-in. This is the default FBX version. |
| FBX200900 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX 200900 version of the FBX Plug-ins. |
| FBX200611 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX 200611 version of the FBX Plug-ins. |
| FBX200608 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX 200608 version of the FBX Plug-ins. |
| FBX200602_MB75 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200602 version of the FBX Plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder. NOTE This is no longer necessary with the most recent versions of MotionBuilder, since “Fbx Plug-in Import” has been implemented. |
| FBX200508_MB70 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX200508 versions of the FBX Plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder. |
| FBX60_MB60 | Select this FBX version to export a file that is compatible with the FBX60 versions of the FBX Plug-ins. This includes older versions of MotionBuilder. |
You do not need to change this option if you are using the latest FBX 2010 Plug-ins in the source and destination applications. This option is only for exporting older versions of the FBX plug-ins, not the application, unless the latest plug-in is not available for that specific version.
For example, if you want to export from Maya 2009 and import to Maya 2008 using the latest FBX 2010 versions of the plug-ins in both applications, you do not need to change the export FBX version. The file is compatible when you use the FBX 2010 versions of the plug-in.
