The compressed proprietary file format used by Autodesk Alias products. Programmers can access wire file via the Alias OpenModel library. In Alias you can open wire files from previous versions. If you continue to use older versions of Alias and want to keep the older file format intact, be sure to copy the files before opening them, or rename the files after opening them.
