Creating templates and views

Customize a template view
 
                
               
             
             
            
            Set the active view for
                  a container 
          
       
       
       
       
      You can set the active
         view for a container using the Asset Editor or Attribute Editor.
         The active view defines the interface for the container in Maya’s
         windows and editors.
      
      Before you set the view,
         your container must have a template assigned that includes views.

      To set a container to use a custom view
         (Asset Editor)
      
      
         - In the left panel, select the container
            and click the Pin icon   . .
- Select View > Mode >
               Use Template from the Asset Editor menu
            bar (if it is not already selected). 
         
- Select View > Name,
            then select from the list of custom views. 
         
To set a container to use a custom view
         (Attribute Editor)
      
      
         - Select the container’s tab in the Attribute
               Editor and expand the Container Attributes heading.
         
- Click on View Mode and
            select Use Template if it is not already
            selected.
         
-  Click the View Name button
            and select a view from the pop-up menu that appears.
