Creating and removing containers
Preview the contents of a container
Create containers
When you create a container, you can use the Create
Container Options window to customize which nodes, connected
or related to your selected nodes, will also be included.
To
create a container
- Select the nodes you want to place in a container.
- Select
Assets > Create Container > . You
can also select
Edit > Container > Create
Container from
the Hypergraph window.
The Create Container Options window
appears.
- Set Operation to Create
container.
- Name
your container.
- If
you want to include the entire node network connected to the selected objects
in your container, turn on Include Connected.
NoteThis option includes nodes directly connected
to the selected nodes, as well as indirectly connected nodes (nodes
connected to directly connected nodes and so forth).
- Select
the node hierarchy to include in your container.
- Select Root
Transform to automatically publish the selected object
as the container’s root transform. Select Root Attributes to
automatically publish the root node’s basic attributes (translation,
rotation, and scale).
- Click Apply
and close.
A container node is created containing the selected
objects and any related nodes you specified.
Include Connected and Include
Hierarchy automatically select all the connected and
related nodes respectively. If you only want a subset of these nodes
included in your container, you can use the Preview
contents option.
To
create a container with a subset of connected or related nodes
- Use
the Preview contents option to
select a set of connected or related nodes (for information on how
to do this, see
Preview the contents of a container).
Even if you don’t want all the connected or
related nodes, these options often provide a good starting point
for a node selection.
- Modify
the selection to include only the nodes you want in the container.
- Select
Assets > Create Container > . You
can also select
Edit > Container > Create
Container from
the Hypergraph window.
The Create Container Options window
appears.
- Set Operation to Create
container.
- Turn
off Include connected and Include
hierarchy.
