Create fur shadows in the alpha channel
Work on an animation project
If
you want one team to work on animation while another works on the
furry models in the scenes there are two approaches you can take:
You cannot start these methods mid-project.
For more information see
About file referencing in
the Basics guide.
To
reference a non-furry model
- If
the animator does not have Fur, unload the Fur plug-in and create
the model.
- Save
the scene using a name that identifies it as the model without fur
(for example, noFurModel).
- Create
a new scene and reference the scene with the model without fur (
File > Create Reference).
- Save
this new scene using a name that identifies it as the model with
fur (for example FurModel).
- Send
the non-fur scene to the animator.
- Attach
fur to the fur scene and modify it as desired.
- When
the animator has finished animating the non-furry model, replace the
original scene with no fur with the animator’s updated scene. The
fur in the scene with fur will now be applied to the animated model.
To
reference a furry model
- Create
the model in its base pose.
- Attach
fur to the model and modify it as desired.
- Save
this scene using a name that identifies it as the model with fur
(for example BaseFurModel).
- Create
a new scene and reference the scene with the model with fur (
File > Create Reference).
- Animate
the new scene and save it using a name that identifies it as the animated
scene (for example AnimFurModel).
- Repeat
steps 4 and 5 for any other scenes using the furry model.
- When
you modify the fur on the base pose model, the models in the animated
scenes will be updated.
- If
you intend to reference the furry scene into a different project,
in both scenes select Custom Equalizer Maps in
the Fur Render Settings. Then select
Fur > Update Fur Maps in
the referencing scene. This ensures the maps are found.
