Subdivides polygons by adding edges at regular intervals along one or more perpendicular planes.
To apply: Select one or more polygon mesh objects, polygon clusters, or polygons and choose from the Model toolbar.
To redisplay: Select the diced object, click the button on the Select panel, then click the Dice Polygons Op icon.

Selects the axes to cut along. The result is a crisscross pattern across the Z = 0 plane (), X = 0 plane (), Y = 0 plane (), or all planes ().
Determines which set of axes to use:
-
uses the scene origin as reference.
-
uses the object's own center as reference.
-
uses the local reference frame of the affected polygons. The local reference frame can be based on each individual polygon,
each group of adjacent polygons, or all selected polygons, depending the Merge parameter. Local Component has no effect if
you diced an object instead of components.
Determines how the components are diced:
-
dices each polygon separately.
-
performs one dice operation on each group of connected polygons.
-
performs a single dice operation on all polygons together, whether or not they are connected.

Sets the number of slices in each direction. The slices are spaced so that they evenly divide the bounding box with respect
to the reference set by the Frame parameter. These sliders are not available when is on.
Uses equal spacing between slices in each direction. The required number of slices is calculated automatically.
The distance between slices when is on. Values are in Softimage units.
The minimum distance between a new point created by the dice operation and an existing point on the object. If the dice operation
creates a point closer than this value, the point is moved to the existing point and welded. This prevents the dice operation
from creating very small edges and polygons. As a result, some of the new edges are no longer exactly parallel to the cutting
plane but no existing points gets moved.
Creates pairs of opposing boundary edges. This results in disconnected islands of polygons.
Selects all edges created by the dice operator.
