To display: Select a Rectangular, Elliptical, or Lasso stencil shape in the FX Viewer or the explorer and press Enter to open its property
editor.
These options allow you to set the attributes of existing Rectangular, Elliptical, or Lasso stencils.
-
In both paint clips and vector paint layers, stencils are temporarily stored as selection shapes. You can find them in the
explorer under the FXTree > Paint Selection node. This allows you to edit stencils after you draw them, but before you make
changes to the selected areas.
-
In vector paint layers, stencils are stored as selection shapes, and you can edit their properties to changes the selection
even after you've modifies the selected region. Selection shape nodes are stored under the VectorPaint > ShapeList node. You
can select the shapes from the explorer or from within the FX Viewer.
Selection
|
Specifies the stencil shape's type. The type that was selected when the shape was drawn is activated when you open the property
editor.
Shapes can be any one of the following three types:
-
shapes consist of a series of control points, each connected to the next by a smooth or straight Bezier curve.
Straight Bezier curve shapes resemble polyline shapes since all of the points are connected by straight lines and the points'
handles are hidden.
Smooth Bezier curve shapes tend to curve at every point. The points' handles can be displayed, allowing you to adjust the
curve.
-
shapes consist of a series of control points, each connected to the next by an interpolated curve. Each point is assigned
a weight value that defines the degree top which it pulls the curve. The higher the weight, the stronger the pull, and the
straighter the curve connecting a point to its two adjacent points.
-
shapes consist of a series of control points, each connected to the next by a straight line segment.

|
Specifies the action that the mask performs. Choose one of the following: the region defined by the stencil is selected.
the region defined by the stencil is added to existing stencil selections.
the region defined by the stencil is removed from existing stencil selections wherever they intersect.
causes the region where the stencil and existing stencil selections exist to be the selected region.
|
|
Blurs the edge of the selected area. The higher the value, the larger the blurred area.
|
|
When activated, the edges of the stencil are anti-aliased against the area outside the stencil.
|
|
Toggles the stencil. When deactivated, the stencil is muted.
|
Transform
Move
|
Translates the selection shape from its initial position in X and/or Y. The values are in pixels.
|
Scale
|
Scales the selection shape in X and/or Y.
-
If the Use Pivot option is active, scaling is relative to the pivot point.
-
If the Use Pivot option is not active, scaling is relative to the center of the selection shape's bounding box.
|
Pivot
|
Activates the pivot for scaling and rotation. When the pivot is active, all changes to the selection shape's scale and rotation
are performed relative to the pivot point.
|
|
Translates the pivot from its initial position at the center of the selection shape's bounding box.
|
Rotate
|
Specifies, in degrees, the selection shape's rotation.
-
If the Use Pivot option is active, rotation is relative to the pivot point.
-
If the Use Pivot option is not active, rotation is relative to the center of the selection shape's bounding box.
|
Display
|
Displays the selection shape's name in the explorer. You can change it by typing a new name in the text box.
