Modifying External File Paths

Sometimes, you may find that paths to external files have been broken. For example, you might have renamed or moved a directory containing external files, or changed your naming convention for referenced files (for example, changing all your existing images from clock1.pic, clock2.pic, etc. to clock01.pic, clock02.pic, etc.). In cases like these, you can modify the paths to fix all of the broken links.

You can modify paths to external files one at a time (as described below), or you can modify multiple paths in a single operation by clicking the Searching and Replacing Strings in Paths button.

To modify the path to an external file

  1. From the main menu, choose File External Files to open the external files manager.

  2. In the User Path column, locate and click the file path you wish to modify and type the new path.

Alternatively, you can click Browse Selected Path button, in the Actions section, to search for the replacement file.
