Using WeightMap, Points, and StiffnessMap Ports in Syflex Cloth

Using WeightMap and Points to Vary Deformations

The WeightMap and Points ports are available in the Syflex Cloth ICE compound to define and control the points of a cloth influenced by he simulation.

Consider the following polygon mesh.

The following table shows the deformations on the polygon mesh when you connect the WeightMap and Points ports in the Syflex Cloth ICE compound.

Deformation when you connect only the WeightMap value to the Syflex Cloth ICE compound.

Deformation when you connect only the Points value is connected to the Syflex Cloth ICE compound.

Deformation when you connect both the WeightMap and Points values to the Syflex Cloth ICE compound.

Using StiffnessMap to Vary Deformation

The StiffnessMap modifies the stiffness of each spring of the cloth that are attached to this point. The StiffnessMap is connected to the three input ports, StretchMap, ShearMap, and BendMap in the Syflex Cloth Springs compound.

For example, the ICE tree when you apply connect StiffnessMap port to grid weights appears as shown below.

The deformation in the polygon mesh after applying connecting to StiffnessMap is shown below.
