Description

This node applies a damping force the same as the syflexIDamp node except that the damp air force is proportional to the orientation of the cloth's polygon face in relation to the direction of the cloth's movement: a face that "slices" through the air (perpendicular to the direction of movement) is not affected by the damp air force, while a face that is fully against the direction of movement is slowed down. You can also choose the sides of the cloth object to which to apply the damp air force.

This node is not supported for Syflex curves because they have no faces - use the syflexIDamp node instead.

This node is the same as the Syflex Damp Air compound.

For information on Syflex ICE forces, see Syflex ICE Forces.

Ports

Inputs

Damp

The damp coefficient, which controls the intensity of the damping effect.

Side

Controls whether the damping is applied on both sides of the cloth, or on only one side. The sides of the object are defined by the direction of the normals on the mesh.

If the Side value is:

  • 0: damping is applied on both sides of the object.

  • 1: damping is applied to the outside of the object (the side in which the object normals are pointing).

  • -1: damping is applied to the inside of the object (the opposite side in which the object normals are pointing).

Outputs

Force

The output force.
