Override Property Editor

Use overrides to replace an object's parameter with another value or a shader. For example, you can override an object's (or group of objects') reflection parameter. Once overridden, you can increase or decrease the value, or drive it with a texture to create a reflection map.

To apply:

  1. Select an object.

  2. Choose Get Property Override.

  3. Add parameters manually using the Add Parameters button.

Add Parameters...

Opens a pop-up explorer where you can select one or several parameters to which you can override. Use Ctrl+click to select more than one parameter. Click anywhere outside of the property editor to end.

The property editor will display a new parameter for every parameter you selected from the pop-up menu. Depending on the selected property, the new parameter line will appear with a check box or a connection icon for connecting another shader to an object's parameter without nullifying any of the object's original properties. For example, an Enable parameter will show a checkbox when overridden, but a color parameter will allow you to connect a texture to drive it.

Remove Marked Parameters

Removes the marked parameters from the override. First mark the parameters in the parameter list below, then click this button. The override no longer affects those parameters and their values revert to those that are locally applied or inherited by the affected objects.

Parameter List

The list contains an entry for every parameter in the override. Modify a value to affect the objects on which the override is applied.

Name
