Hair Scale Operator Property Editor

Scales guide hair curves.

To apply: Select the hair strands, points, or tips to scale, choose the Scale command on the Hair panel, then click+drag the mouse to the right to lengthen and to the left to shorten the hair. You can also set the Scale Factor for precise length control.

To display: Select the hair object, click the Selection button on the Select panel, and then click the Hair Scale Operator icon.

For more information, see Scaling the Hairs [ Hair ].

Mute

Toggles the deformation on and off without affecting the values of other parameters.

Reset Noisespace

Resets the noise space whenever the Scale operator is evaluated. You should leave this on unless you are animating the Scale Factor (or any styling operators below it in the hair's stack).

Scale Factor

The amount of scaling.

If you animate this value, you cannot use dynamics on the hair.

Each time you click+drag the mouse, another scale operator is added to the stack. Note that the results of using the Scale operator are cumulative: an operator that scales by 2 followed by one that scales by 0.5 negates the scale.
