Output: Color

Defines the camera's depth of field by manipulating the radius of the circle of confusion, focal length, and focus plane distance from the camera.

Name

The shader's name. Enter any name you like, or leave the default.

Depth of Field Mode

Controls whether you wish to create depth of field using Automatic, Custom, or Lens mode.

Depth of Field Strength

Controls how powerful the depth of field will be, given the defined focal distance.

Automatic Mode

Focal Distance (in.)

Defines the focal distance from the camera. Used with the Depth of Field Strength parameter above.

Custom Mode

Near Focus (in.)

Defines the front (start) distance of the focus area.

Far Focus (in.)

Defines the back (end) distance of the focus area.

Circle of Confusion (in.)

Controls the scaling factor of the circle of confusion (unfocused area).

Lens Mode

Focal Distance (in.)

Defines the focal distance from the camera. Used with the Depth of Field Strength parameter above.

Focal Length (mm)

Determines the focal length of the lens. A lens with a shorter focal length gives a greater depth of field than a lens with a longer focal length.

FStop

Defines the strength of the depth of field as on a real camera.

3.8 = short depth of field;

64 = high depth of field

Circle of Confusion (in.)

Defines the radius of the circle of confusion; i.e., the area (around the focus plane) in which objects are in focus.

Render Tree Usage
