Merge Curves Property Editor

| Clean | Shape

Create a new curve that spans two existing ones.

To apply: See Merging Curves [Surface and Curve Modeling].

To redisplay: Select the merged curve then choose Edit Properties Modeling Properties and click the Merge Curves tab.

Clean

Inputs

Hide/Unhide

Hides all the inputs for the generated object to simplify the display of your scene in the 3D views, or unhides the inputs when you need to modify them.

Delete

Freezes the generator and deletes the inputs. This simplifies the scene once you are satisfied that you won't need to modify the inputs again.

Tolerance

The maximum allowable error for resampling and reducing the number of points on the merged curve.

Shape

Continuity

The continuity of the merged curve at the point where the original curves meet:

  • Position (C0) The merged curve may have a sharp point.

  • Tangent (C1) The tangent of the merged curve does not change abruptly.

  • Curvature (C2) Neither the tangent nor the curvature of the merged curve changes abruptly.

Seam Mode

The location of the seam between the curves.

  • First Curve The seam is located at the endpoint of the first curve.

  • Second Curve The seam is located at the endpoint of the second curve.

  • Average The seam is located midway between the curves.

Modify Tangent

Specifies the curves whose tangents are modified to maintain continuity.

  • First Curve The tangent of the first curve is modified.

  • Second Curve The tangent of the second curve is modified.

  • Both Curves The tangents of both curves are modified.

Start, End Curve

These parameters affect the blending between the two input curves.

Range

Affects the position where blending begins on the corresponding curve.

Tangent Scale Factor

Affects the extent of the influence of the curve on the blend.
