Randomize Direction

This compound spreads the emitted particles in random directions within a "cone" that you define. The angle values you use are calculated from the point of emission for each side of the emission.

Plug this compound's Execute on Emit output into an Execute on Emit port of the Emit compound.

For more information, see Randomizing the Direction of the Particle Emission [ICE Particle Simulations].

Tasks: Particles/Emission Control

Output Ports: Velocity, Speed

Start Angle

The angle in degrees for one side of the "cone" in which the particles are spread. The sum of the angle values is calculated from the point of emission for each side of the emission.

For example, if you set the angle values here to Start=0 and End=45, the particles are emitted within a total of a 90-degree cone, with 45 degrees on either side of the emitter.

End Angle

The angle in degrees at the other side of the cone.
