Performs a wipe chosen from the SMPTE defined wipe set.

Requires an Input 1 (RGB) and an Input 2 (RGB).

Produces an Output (RGB).

Wipe Selection

Amount

A number representing the proportional completeness of the wipe. Use the slider to set a value between 0 (beginning of wipe) and 1 (end of wipe).

Type

Lets you select a SMPTE wipe. Choose a wipe from one of the four categories.

1-99 Combinations of horizontal, vertical and diagonal edges.

101-199 Enclosed shapes, expanding from the picture's center.

201 to 299 Combinations of horizontal and vertical edges, rotating about various center points (clock wipes).

301 to 999 wipes consisting of sequential revelation of picture squares (matrix wipes).

Use the scrollbar to move through the list of wipes. Click on a wipe to select it.

Preview Menu

The Preview menu lets you set how the SMPTE wipes list is displayed.

Preview None plays none of the wipes.

Preview Selected plays the selected wipe only.

Preview All plays through all of the displayed wipes.

Modifiers

Softness

Sets the softness of the edge of the wipe.

Border Width

Sets the size of the border.

Reverse

Reverses the direction of the wipe. For example, enabling reverse would change a wipe which ran from left to right, to one which ran from right to left.

Soft Edge

Enables or disables a soft edge to the wipe.

Border

Enables or disables a border to the wipe pattern.

Modulate

Enables and disables a waviness imposed on the wipe pattern which varies with time.

Shadow

Enables and disables a shadow of the wipe pattern effect.

Spotlight

Enables or disables the dimming of Input 1. Spotlight creates a spotlight effect when using the same clip for both inputs.

Checkerboard

Affects wipes that take the form of squares laid out in a grid (wipes 301 to 999). When Checkerboard is on, the wipe progresses through adjacent squares in the grid in two stages. First, the wipe affects every other square, then the wipe progresses through the squares left out by the first stage.

Border Color

Sets the color of the border.

Shadow X Offset

Sets the X offset of the wipe shadow in pixels.

Shadow Y Offset

Sets the Y offset of the wipe shadow in pixels.

Shadow Brightness

Sets the dimming factor caused by the wipe pattern's shadow.

Spotlight Brightness

Sets the dimming factor of Input 1 when Spotlight is enabled.

X Replication

Sets the number of times the wipe pattern is repeated horizontally.

Y Replication

Sets the number of times the wipe pattern is repeated vertically.

Expert Settings

X Frequency

Sets the frequency of the modulation on the horizontal edges of the wipe pattern.

Y Frequency

Sets the frequency of the modulation on the vertical edges of the wipe pattern.

X Wavelength

Sets the wavelength in pixels of the modulation on the horizontal edges of the wipe pattern.

Y Wavelength

Sets the wavelength in pixels of the modulation on the vertical edges of the wipe pattern.

X Amplitude

Sets the amplitude in pixels of the modulation on the horizontal edges of the wipe pattern.

Y Amplitude

Sets the amplitude in pixels of the modulation on the vertical edges of the wipe pattern.

X Grid Resolution

Sets the number of horizontal grid rulings used in wipes that take the form of squares laid out in a grid (wipes 301 to 999).

Y Grid Resolution

Sets the number of vertical grid rulings used in wipes that take the form of squares laid out in a grid (wipes 301 to 999).

Clip On Replication

Normally, when a wipe is repeated across the image, each repetition of the pattern is free to grow across the whole image so it will merge with the other repetitions as it outgrows its own area of the screen. When Clip On Replication is On, each repetition of the pattern is confined to its own region of the image (which would be one quarter of the image for a 2x2 replication for example) and becomes cropped if it outgrows it.

Transformations

X Position Offset

Sets a horizontal offset for the elements of the wipe.

Y Position Offset

Sets a vertical offset for the elements of the wipe.

Rotation Angle

Rotates the elements of the wipe.

Mask

Controls this operator's Mask Options.

Output
