Map Adaptor Property Editor

Converts parameter maps with multiple component, such as RGBA colors, to a single dimension. This property is automatically created when you connect a map with multiple components to a scalar mappable parameter, such as Amplitude.

To display: Click the Map Adaptor icon underneath the operator with a mapped parameter in an explorer.

The parameters that appear depend on the type of map. There may be any of the following:

Texture filter

Controls the color lookup used when there are more geometric points than pixels in the image. Used by texture maps.

  • None uses the unmodified color of the pixel at that point.

  • Bilinear uses a weighted average with adjacent pixels. The filter is linear in both U and V.

  • Bicubic also uses a weighted average with adjacent pixels. The filter is cubic in both U and V, yielding smooth color transitions.

Conversion from RGB

Used by texture maps and vertex color properties.

Conversion from UVW

Used by texture projections.

Conversion from XYZ

Used by shapes and normal maps.

Envelope Deformer Index

Used by envelope weights.
