Syflex Spring 2Pt

This force connects two vertices of the simulated cloth or curve object with a spring.

To apply: See Using the Syflex Spring 2-Point Force.

Tasks: Syflex/Forces

Output Ports: The Force output plugs into the Force port on the Syflex Cloth or Syflex Curve node.

Stiffness

Defines the stiffness (stretch) of the spring that is created between the two points.

A higher value creates a stiffer spring, while a lower value allows the spring to become more elastic.

Damping

The damp coefficient, which controls the intensity of the damping effect on the spring. Damping is a moderating force that helps control the oscillations (vibrations) that can occur when springs are very stiff.

Increasing this value can help reduce the vibrations. Use a value that is approprimately one-tenth of the Stiffness value. If you change the Stiffness value, you should change the Damping value accordingly.

Be aware that increasing the damping may increase the computation time, so you should change this value in small increments and test until you get the look you want.

Length

Sets the length of the spring between the two points. This value is a multiplier, so that a value of 1 is the initial length between the two points when the spring was created, 2 doubles that length, 0.5 divides that length, and so on.

Point 1/Point 2

The points (vertices) of the cloth or curve that you want to connect together by a spring. Make sure that the Show Points option (below) is on to see them.

See Using the Syflex Spring 2-Point Force for more information on figuring out what each point's number is.

Show Points

Displays the two spring-connected points (Point 1/2) on the cloth or curve object in blue.
