To display the View Object Wheel:
- On the , click the drop-down.
- Select .
The wheel appears and follows the mouse pointer in the viewport.
To change the location using the wedge:
- On the , click and hold the wedge to display the location.
The mouse pointer changes to the tool.
NoteThe sphere only appears when the mouse pointer is over an object. When the tool is not over geometry, a circle with a line through
it is displayed.
- Drag the to the location around which you would like to orbit.
- Release the mouse button to change the location.
The view pans to show the new location at the center of the canvas.
TipYou can also change the location by clicking the wedge.
The new location will be used the next time you orbit the model using the tool, the , or the wedge on one of the 3D .
NoteYou can restore the original location by right-clicking the and choosing .
To zoom the view:
- Click and hold the wedge.
The mouse pointer changes to the tool.
- Drag the tool upward to zoom in dynamically, or downward to zoom out dynamically.
- Optional: Click the wedge once to zoom in incrementally.
TipPress and hold Shift and click the wedge once to zoom out incrementally.
- Release the mouse button to exit the tool.
To return to a previous view:
- Click and hold the wedge.
A series of thumbnails is displayed. New thumbnails are created each time you release the mouse button when using any 3D SteeringWheel.
- Move the tool over the thumbnails. As you do so, each of the views is displayed on the canvas.
- Release the mouse button to return to the desired view.
TipClick the wedge once to rewind a single view only.
To orbit the view of the model:
- Click and hold the wedge.
The mouse pointer changes to the tool and the is displayed.
- Drag the tool in any direction to change the view.
- Release the mouse button to exit the tool.
