The Open/Create Scene dialog box contains three tabs providing easy access to:

• Sample scenes: These are the scenes included with Showcase in the folder Program Files\Autodesk\Showcase2012\support\. These are also accessible by clicking File > Open Sample Scenes.
• Recently used scenes, or existing scenes: These are also accessible by clicking File > Open Recent or File > Open.
• New Scene templates: These include scenes with preset elements such as environments, shots, and slides. See Use templates.

The Open/Create Scene dialog box opens by default whenever you start Showcase. To open it at any time, select File > New. If you do this while you have a scene open, you will be prompted to save and the scene will be closed.
