Spend more time submerged in the creative process without worrying about edge flow and face count, and still maintain production-quality meshes for downstream use in a pipeline. Retopology tools in Mudbox let you sculpt first, perfect the structure later.

The new Mesh > Retopologize menu item lets you generate clean, new topology based on the surface features of an original mesh. You can sculpt and stretch the mesh without limitation, then retopologize to prepare for animation or rendering. Mudbox preserves the shape and design intent of the source mesh, while producing a production-ready model.

The benefit of computed retopology is that you can have as much or as little control over the process as you want. You decide whether to guide the operation with curves, or let Mudbox run the operation for you.
