To open this window, select Create > Tiling Plane from the main menu bar. See also Sculpt or paint on a tiling plane.

Plane Properties

Horizontal

Defines the horizontal width of each tile in the tiling plane geometry. (Default 4 polygons.)

Vertical

Defines the vertical height of each tile in the tiling plane geometry. (Default 4 polygons.)

Orientation

Sets whether to orient your tiling plane toward the plane defined by the XY, XZ (default), or YZ axes.

Repeating Tiles

Horizontal

Defines how many tiles make up the horizontal width of the plane, setting how many times a single stroke is repeated horizontally. (Default 3 tiles.)

Vertical

Defines how many tiles make up the vertical height of the plane, setting how many times a single stroke is repeated vertically. (Default 3 tiles.)

Create Target for Extraction

When on (default), Mudbox automatically creates a second plane that you can use as the target mesh if you later use this tiling plane as the source for texture extraction. (See Texture extraction overview.) The second plane is named Extraction Target in the Object List, and is locked from receiving edits.
