You can copy (clone) paint from one region and apply the paint to another area of the same model (and same paint layer) using the Clone tool.

To clone paint

1. In the Paint Layers window, select a paint layer you want to clone from.

   While many paint layers can be visible as you use Clone, the tool operates on the selected layer only. If you want to clone from a composite of more than one layer, merge the paint layers before cloning. See Merge paint layers.

   TipTo avoid unintentionally editing a paint layer, create a duplicate before using Clone. See Duplicate a paint layer.
2. Select the Clone icon from the Paint Tools tray.
3. Ctrl-click the region you want to clone to establish the first sample point.

   This sets the starting point from which the Clone tool copies paint.

4. Paint where you want the cloned color to appear.

   As you stroke, paint is copied and applied in relation to the Clone sample point. The Clone sample point continues to update and maintain an offset as you paint.
