The animation on a BaseAnimation layer is always part of the result animation. Though the BaseAnimation layer can be locked, it cannot be muted, soloed, or parented to other layers. You can take the following steps to work around this.
A new layer appears containing the same animation as the BaseAnimation layer.
The keyframes on the BaseAnimation layer are deleted. The animation is still part of the result animation however, because you copied it the other layer.
The animation that was originally set on the BaseAnimation layer no longer plays in the result animation.
