The Version Control menu lets you manage your projects by enabling you to get the latest version of a file, check in a file,
check out a file, and accessing the history of a file using simplified versions of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, Avid Alienbrain,
or both—Microsoft Visual SourceSafe and Avid Alienbrain version control software products.
NoteThe Version Control menu is only available if you have Alienbrain, SourceSafe, or both software products—Alienbrain and SourceSafe
installed.
Get Latest Version
Lets you copy the latest version of a file to the local drive.
Check Out
Lets you open a file for editing. If the file is already checked out by another person, you cannot retrieve it.
Check In
Lets you copy a local version of your file to the project database.
Undo Check Out
Lets you cancel changes made to the file while it was checked out.
Show History
Lets you view an annotated list of all the versions of a file.
NoteThis menu is only available if you are using the Alienbrain version control software.
Show Settings
If you are using the Alienbrain version control software product, it displays the Alienbrain Settings window. See Alienbrain settings configuration.
If you are using the SourceSafe version control software product, it displays the Microsoft VSS settings window. See VSS settings configuration.
Disable Version Control Integration
Disables the use of the file management system.
NoteTo reactivate version control within the current MotionBuilder session, deselect the Disable Version Control Integration option in the Version Control menu. To reactivate version control
in the subsequent MotionBuilder session, after launching MotionBuilder, in the Asset manager selection dialog box, click an asset manager from the list of asset managers and click Select.
