About materials

Material assets let you change a model’s color and simulate how the model’s surface reacts to light.

The way materials affect a model’s surface can be approached into two ways:

To simulate how a model’s surface reacts to light and color, the Material settings let you change the color and intensity of properties such as Diffuse and Specularity.

To simulate surface consistency, additional settings let you create more advanced effects, such as reflectivity, transparency, and relief. To create these effects using a Material asset, you must also apply the corresponding shader.
