In the Layer Settings pane, the Layer Editor lets you blend multiple textures. See Blending multiple textures. Four buttons at the top of the Layer Editor let you manage the textures in the Layered texture.
Button | Function |
---|---|
Add | Adds a new texture to the scene and attaches it to the Layered texture. |
Remove | Detaches the selected texture from the Layered texture. The texture is not deleted from the scene. |
Up | Moves the selected texture up in the list of layered textures. |
Down | Moves the selected texture down in the list of layered textures. |
When a texture is already in the scene, there are two ways you can add it to a Layered texture. Dragging the texture from the Scene browser, either drop it into the Layer Editor or onto the Layered texture in the Scene browser.
Once you have added a texture to the Layered texture, it appears in the list of layers with Blend Mode and Transparency settings.
The selected texture is detached from the Layered texture. It is not deleted from the scene.
The Blend Mode menu lets you control and animate how textures are mixed in the Layered texture.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Translucent | The texture layer is transparent, depending on the Alpha settings. |
Additive | The color of the new texture is added to the previous texture. |
Modulate | The color value of the new texture is multiplied by the color values of all previous layers of texture. |
Modulate2 | The color value of the new texture is multiplied by two and then multiplied by the color values of all previous layers of texture. |
The Transparency settings let you adjust and animate a texture’s level of transparency. See Blending multiple textures.
