Loading video files
 
 
 

You can load video files via the menu bar, the Asset browser, or the Scene browser in the Navigator window.

Note

If you have a Video directory in your Scene browser or video files in your Asset browser, you can drag a video file in the Viewer window to add it to the scene, set it as a video plane, set it as the current camera foreground or current camera background.

MotionBuilder supports the following file formats as video assets:

To add a video file to a scene via the menu bar:

  1. Select File > Import Video.

    The Import Video dialog appears.

  2. Navigate in the Import Video dialog, select a video clip, and click Open.

    The video file is loaded in the scene. The Navigator window displays the video asset in the Scene browser and the video asset’s settings under the Video Settings tab.

To load a video file via the Asset browser, do one of the following:

The Scene browser must contain a Video branch. If it doesn’t, you can load video files via the menu bar or the Asset browser.

  1. Right-click the Video branch and select Insert Video from the contextual menu.

    The Import Video dialog appears.

  2. Navigate in the Import Video dialog, select a video file, and click Open.

    The video asset is loaded in the scene. The Navigator window displays the video asset in the Scene browser and the video asset’s settings under the Video Settings tab.
