Set up mental ray for Maya raytracing

 
 
 
NoteIf you want to render Global illumination, Caustics, or mental ray for Maya raytraced shadows, raytracing must be turned on.

By default, mental ray for Maya raytracing is turned on, which means that you can just proceed with the global illumination or caustics workflow.

To turn on raytracing and set attributes

  1. Select the Rendering menu set.
  2. Open the Render Settings window.

    Click the Select Window > Rendering Editors > Render Settings or click the Render Settings window icon.

  3. Select the mental ray for Maya render.
  4. Click the Features tab.
  5. Turn on Raytracing.

    Find Raytracing in the Rendering Features section.

  6. Set the raytracing attributes. See Raytracing for more details.
