Associate audio with a sequence or shot

In the Camera Sequencer, you can import audio files for an entire sequence, or import individual audio files to associate with a specific camera shot.

To import audio files for the sequence

  1. Move the timeline cursor in the Camera Sequencer to where you want an audio clip to start.
  2. Select File > Import Sequencer Audio.
  3. In the Import window that appears, navigate to select the audio file you want to import and click Open.

The audio is loaded in the Soundtrack area of the Camera Sequencer.

NoteEnsure the Soundtrack is expanded (not collapsed) if you do not immediately see your audio clip.

You can drag the audio clip left or right to change when it starts to play relative to the sequence. To change the audio clip duration relative to the sequence, see Adjust the timing of audio in a sequence.

To associate an audio file with a shot

  1. Select a shot.
  2. From the Camera Sequencer menu bar, select File > Import Shot Audio.
  3. Navigate to select an audio file, then click Open.

The audio is loaded in the Soundtrack area of the Camera Sequencer and associated with the selected shot.

The duration and position of the audio clip is controlled by the associated shot, so you cannot drag left or right to adjust the position of the audio clip. For example, if the shot starts at frame 1 and ends at 350, the audio clip also starts at frame 1 and ends at frame 350.

To adjust the timing of the audio relative to the shot, see Adjust the timing of audio in a sequence.

Tip

If you experience difficulty playing audio in the Camera Sequencer, ensure that the following options are set:

  • In the Camera Sequencer, Enable Sound is enabled in the View menu.
  • In the Time Slider, set Sounds > Use Trax Sounds and Playback Speed > Real-time. (-click the Time Slider and set these options in the menu that appears.)
