Once you have a skeleton with a valid skeleton definition, you can create a Control rig for your character. Characters must
have a Control rig in order to receive retargeted animation.
NoteA Control rig is automatically created for your character when you select either or another character as its
Source in the , and you do not have to manually create the rig.
To create a Control rig
- Load an HumanIK character with a valid skeleton definition. (See Create a HumanIK skeleton definition.)
- Open the . (See Open the HumanIK character setup tools.)
- Select your HumanIK character from the Character menu and do one of the following:
- Select from the menu.
- Click > .
The tab displays in the window.
The Control rig effectors are created based on the structure of the character’s skeleton (defined in the tab).
To change the default appearance of existing Control rig effectors
- In the , select > , then select the effector type you want:
