Create ocean effects using example oceans or ponds
 
 
 

Fluid Effects comes with ocean and pond example files that include all the components and settings for complete ocean and pond effects. You can quickly import them into your scene, play, and render them without alteration.

Modify these files to customize the effects, use them as learning tools to understand how to create your own effects, or use them simply for ideas.

To create an ocean effect using an example ocean or pond file

  1. In the Dynamics menu set, select Fluid Effects > Get Ocean/Pond Example.

    The Visor opens to the Ocean Examples tab.

  2. With , drag the icon representing the example you want to use onto your scene.

    Maya imports all the objects making up the effect into your scene (the lights, geometry, ocean shader, cameras, etc.).

  3. Modify any objects or attributes to customize the effect.

    The Notes section at the bottom of the Attribute Editor provides information about the ocean or pond effect, pointing out the key aspects of its construction to help you determine how each example can be used.
