Mute, Lock, and Solo animation layers
 
 
 

You can use the Animation Layer Buttons to mute, lock, and solo individual animation layers. The ghost options for animation layers are also available with the Animation Layer Buttons.

Tip

You can also Select an animation layer node and use the Channel Box or Attribute Editor to set a layer’s Mute, Lock, and Solo attributes on and off.

To mute a layer

  1. Click the Mute button next to the layer name in the Animation Layer Editor.

    The symbol turns red and the layer name displays in grey when an animation layer is muted.

    Note

    When you mute a parent layer, its child layers are also muted.

To solo a layer

  1. Click the Solo button next to the layer name in the Animation Layer Editor.
Note

When you solo one or more animation layers, the Mute option for all other layers is automatically activated, so that only the animation from the soloed layers is played back.

You can also quickly solo selected animation layers and mute all other animation layers using the Exclusive Solo option.

To exclusive solo an animation layer

  1. Select the animation layer you want to solo.
  2. -click and select Exclusive Solo from the pop-up menu.

    The selected animation layer is soloed and all other animation layers are muted.

To lock an animation layer

  1. Click the Lock button next to the layer name in the Animation Layer Editor.

    The layer is locked and no longer receives keyframes.
