- Close all applications before installing
Mudbox.
- Insert the Mudbox DVD into the drive
of your computer.
Double-click the Mudbox
2009 disk icon on your Desktop.
- In the Finder window
that appears, double-click the Install Mudbox .mpkg icon
to begin the installation process.
The installer window
appears. You can cancel the installation at any time by closing
the installer window.
- Click Continue to
proceed with the Mudbox installation.
The Autodesk
Software License Agreement appears. You can print or
save this license agreement for future reference. This agreement
requires your acceptance for the Mudbox software installation to
continue. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of the
agreement, the installation process does not continue.
- Click Continue and
then Agree to continue the Mudbox
installation.
The Select
a Destination window appears. Select the volume you want
to install Mudbox.
By default, Mudbox is
installed into the /Applications/Autodesk/Mudbox2009 folder
of this volume. You can specify another folder by clicking Choose
Folder.
Click Continue.
The Standard Install screen appears.
- Click Install.
NoteAt this point the
installer asks you to type in the name and password of the administrator
account on the local machine. You must have administrator privileges
to install Mudbox.
Mudbox is installed on
your computer. The progress of the installation is indicated by
a progress bar at the bottom of the installer window.
The Installation
Completed Successfully screen appears to indicate that Mudbox
was installed.
- Activate your version of Mudbox as follows:
- If the product key that appears on the
back of your DVD package is 498A2, see
Activate Mudbox.
- If the product key that appears on the
back of your DVD package (or provided when you downloaded Mudbox
from the Autodesk online store) is 498A1, see
License Mudbox.

Uninstalling Mudbox 2009
trial versions
If you have another version
of Mudbox 2009 for Mac OS X installed (for example, a trial version),
you must uninstall it before installing this version.
- (Mac OS X) Open
the Applications/Autodesk/Mudbox
2009/Uninstall directory and double-click Uninstall.
